I did two days of tree farm sessions last year and they were so much fun! A tree farm is a great, casual backdrop for Christmas cards and the kids always have so much fun. We started mid day and I wrapped up right after sunset. I can't wait to do these again this year :)
I met the G family at their home for a family lifestyle session. They wanted to capture the kids playing and enjoying a Saturday morning together. It was nice outside, so we were able to play outside for a bit too. During my sessions, I don't stop shooting very often. While we were getting ready to go outside, I was taking pictures of Mom putting on her daughter's shoes. She said to me, "Why are you taking a picture of my mom tying my shoes?" And I said, "Because one day, you will tie them on your own." <3
It has been awhile since I've blogged. I had to take a break to keep up with my fall sessions, but now I want to get back to sharing some of my favorite sessions from 2016. I did this lifestyle session at the end of last summer. Mom wanted the session to have a newborn feel to it even though their baby as about three months old. I was a little nervous about how it would go because I had not done this before, but it turned out to be one of my favorite sessions. Three months is such a great age. I feel like it's around this time that their personalities really start to peek through... and oh the smiles! I love them :)
As I sit here sipping hot tea and debating about plugging in my space heater, I thought it would be fun to look back at a session from August. It was SO hot this day and the heat index was over 100. These guys were such troopers and we embraced the heat, enjoyed the morning, and cooled off at the end in the children's garden. I love working with this family each year! They have been with me since I first opened and am so happy to have connected with them. I've loved watching Dylan grow from a toddler into a preschooler, capturing Zooey when she first entered their family, and now her one year old pictures :)
It was a winter wonderland at the Haverford Duck Pond when we got together to take one year old pictures of the twins (we had no idea we'd have such snowy luck when mom booked the session last October!). As beautiful and sunny as it was, it was so cold that morning!! The kids had lots of cuddles from their parents throughout the session to keep warm.
I had the pleasure of working with this family for the second time this year! Before Christmas, the grandchildren got together with their grandparents for an extended family photo session as a birthday gift for their grandmother. When you have five kids three and under, you sure do have a lot of fun chasing them around! There were lots of laughs, a few tears, but mostly... joy.
The second half of my mini sessions did not disappoint. I had so much fun capturing natural interactions and hearing all the giggles while the kids raced through the trees. The cutest little Santa even made an appearance as the sun set behind the trees. It was a such great day! Thank you to everyone who came out for my first ever mini sessions!!
Now that Christmas is over and cards are out, I wanted to share some more of my favorite pictures from the Tree Farm Mini Sessions that I held at the end of November. I had SO much fun doing these and hope to start doing them annually. Here is part one and I'll share part two tomorrow!
I worked with this family this past spring and had the pleasure of hanging out with them again for M's one year pictures. We did some birthday shots inside before heading out to play in the backyard. M was a happy one year old! He had an amazing smile and a contagious laugh. We had a great time goofing off and capturing the essence of being one.
I had a great time working with little L and her three big sisters! We had a beautiful morning for a backyard session and even had time to squeeze in a few indoor shots at the end.
I had such a wonderful time with this family a couple weeks ago as we celebrated H's 6 month milestone!
I had SO much fun chasing (yes, chasing!) around these two little ladies at Kerr Park a couple weeks ago! I loved documenting everything about their 2's while they giggled, climbed, and shared lots of hugs.

I love when I have the opportunity to do a true lifestyle session with very few posed images! I had a great time with the D family last month. They had two adorable kids and had a great time just being together as a family!
It was so fun to photograph this family a few weeks ago! We had lots of fun playing and capturing some sweet images of their new little guy.
I fell in love with photography soon after my first daughter was born. I spent hours upon hours reading about photography during late night nursing sessions and spent my days practicing what I learned so I could get the perfect portrait of my daughter. It wasn’t long before I realized that my favorite images were the ones captured between the posed portraits. I love looking back at the pictures of my daughter’s tiny hands stacking her alphabet blocks or holding our favorite books. I love seeing her sweet eyes peeking through the holes in the laundry basket that I’ve had since college. And I love reminiscing when I see her tiny feet from the day she crawled into her toddler bed for the first time. For me, photographs mean so much more when there is context and memories associated with them. I’ve always loved looking back at the pictures my parents took of us when we were growing up. I especially love all of the details: the linoleum kitchen floors we roller skated on, the pink living room couch we sat on while we waited for the bus on rainy days, the wooden rolling pin that my mom has always used to make sugar cookies.
As much as we take photographs for our own personal memories, we also take them for our children to look back at years from now. Their favorite images will be the ones that stir up memories of their childhood: ordinary moments from everyday life. For me, these ordinary, often simple moments are the ones that make life extraordinary.
I want to capture these moments for you and your family so you can share them for generations to come. I loved working with this family of four as they welcomed baby B into their lives. Baby B is so lucky to have three people who totally adore her!
Last summer, while I was portfolio building, I took photos on the beach for each of my sister-in-laws and their families. We had a lot of fun playing in the sand, running along the shoreline, splashing in the water, and digging for clams. I recently had the honor of photographing my friend, Autumn, and her growing family of three. Autumn was also due with her second baby this spring, so it was fun to swap photography sessions with each other! Autumn and her family were just glowing and it was fun to capture such genuine smiles and their love for this sweet baby boy (though, it was even more fun to meet him yesterday to take his newborn photos!!). I want to give a special thank you to Gardners Landscape Nursery for letting us use their beautiful greenhouse on such a bitterly cold Februrary morning!
I met up with the F family on a freezing cold day in February. Luckily, we picked an indoor location for D's two year old photos! D had so much fun exploring the exhibits at the Please Touch Museum and taking some pictures along the way. I had a lot of fun playing with various lighting situations and love the variety of images we were able to capture. Happy 2nd birthday, D!
